1.2.07
Well, it is late, but I
wanted to write this before
the morning because I will
be too tired, and I don't
want to completely ignore
the kids. At least right
now they are asleep. James
went to the Primo Coffee
shop to work today. It was
cool because Evelyn took a 3
hour nap practically, and so
while Isaiah played video
games and with toys, I
cleaned the entire house!
Awesome. Then, we decided
to bare the cold and I took
them to the park. This was
their second time outside
too because James and I had
them out there before noon
playing too. The park was
fun because Isaiah brought
his toys and so everyone
(everyone being Evelyn)
liked watching Isaiah push
his toys down the slide.
Boys will be boys. After a
while of that though I
realized that all of our
hands were frozen, and so we
headed back home. Yes I
know, that long walk across
the street. lol On the way
back though I asked Isaiah
if he wanted to see if Tammy
and Nino's son Johnny wanted
to come over and play. It
has been a VERY LONG TIME
since Isaiah had a friend
over. A long time. I guess
with him being in school
now, and then the holidays,
there just hasn't been a
chance. So anyway, Isaiah
was very excited about that
and Johnny did get to come
over after he ate dinner.
It was good for Isaiah. He
had so much fun and they
played well together.
Evelyn thought it was sort
of odd though. When I think
about it she really hasn't
seen Isaiah with a friend
over. I would be willing to
bet she thinks that she is
his only friend. For a
while she was just upset at
Isaiah it seemed like that
he was having fun with
someone else. lol Once they
came downstairs to color
though and she sat at the
table to do it too, she was
better. Blank paper and
pens can do wonders. :)
Then, during all of that I
became very thankful that I
did clean the whole house
because James called and
said his friend Eliot would
be coming over around 7pm to
just hang out.
We had a lot of fun with
him. James and Eliot just
played video games at first,
then we decided to play
scrabble. Sadly, James won
both games. I swear it is
so annoying to be married to
someone who literally is
good at almost everything he
does, and wins almost every
game he plays. I can't
stand it! lol Eliot said
that when he comes over
though we will continue to
play. I hope until James
does not win. lol I am
all for that. :) He is a
really cool guy though and I
enjoy having him over. It's
nice having friends
over...Maybe in a couple
years we will have a few
more friends. lol Anyway,
so now it's almost 1am, and
I should be going to sleep I
guess. I hope you all have
a great day tomorrow since
that is when you will
probably be reading this.
Hopefully, James' check will
come in the mail tomorrow
and we can go to Costco. I
didn't realize that
President Bush had cancelled
the mail today in
remembrance of President
Ford. I was waiting all day
for the mail to come and it
never did...then, when I
mentioned it to Eliot he
told me why and I was so
happy to know it wasn't just
that the mail man hated me.
lol Anyway, so tomorrow I
hope to go shopping and
spend some of James' money.
lol ttyl. Bye.
1.1.07
Well here we are...2007.
This just means that
everyone who writes checks
out will forget that it's
the new year and so people
everywhere will be
scratching out that error
and putting their initials
next to it. I swear that it
can take up to 2 weeks
before I get it through my
head. It's a hard habit to
break. It also feels so
strange that Christmas is
over and done. All of our
decorations are packed a
way, and we even put the
tree out on the curb. I
don't know if someone picks
it up or not, but I
certainly hope so because we
are leaving it there until
"they" do. Whoever they
are. That is the bad thing
about having a real
Christmas tree, you have to
wonder how you're going to
get rid of it. But just the
same I miss having it in the
living room, seeing all the
pretty lights. It seems
like it is so wonderful
waiting for Christmas to get
here, then it arrives, and
it's done. You of course
leave everything up for a
while, since New Years is
right around the corner, but
after that the whole
shah-bang is over and you
are left with your regular
ordinary house. Kinda sad.
Lucky for me I still have
lots to look forward to.
Not in January really, but
February. As I mentioned
before James is flying
Lorenda out here for my
birthday. She is staying
for 3 days and I am very
excited to share our home
and town with one of my
friends. I wish that
everyone I knew could come
here, but I know it is far.
Plus, there is the money you
need. Luckily we got her
ticket for only $220.00.
Cool huh?
Speaking of friends though,
on New Years Eve we had a
great time. We went to Jeff
and Jenn's new house and
hung out with them. We got
there at like 7:30pm, maybe
15 minutes later than that,
either way, the time FLEW by
and next thing we knew it
was only 10 minutes til
midnight. It was actually
lucky that someone noticed
the clock. We played lots
of games and snacked on way
too many cookies. They had
lots of alcoholic drinks,
and we had Coke. Don't ask
me what they made, because I
have no idea. I have never
had any alcohol in my life,
so I can never tell by
looking what people are
drinking or making. We rang
in the New Year sitting on
the couch watching Dick
Clark's Rocking New Years
Eve, and then of course
James and I had our New
Years kiss as the ball
dropped. We hung out there
after that until almost 1am
and then headed home, since
it is an hour drive back.
Thank the Lord that it
wasn't raining as bad on the
way home. On the way there
it was pouring...I mean like
buckets were just being
dumped down on our
windshield. We couldn't
even see the lines in the
freeway and we were driving
40 mph. James even admitted
to being a little bit
scared. I know I was VERY
nervous. It was not a good
night to be driving.
We made it there safe and so
that is good. And like I
said, the drive home was
much better.
Oh, and in regards to my
diet...today I officially
started again...this time
with a new and determined
spirit to get down to
business and stick to what I
know I need to do. Holidays
make it so rough, since they
all involve massive amounts
of food...but I am
determined and I know I can
do it. Today went very
well. I even had 4 points
left over tonight so I let
myself use them on a little
snack. It is always nice,
and it makes you feel
confident, when you prove to
yourself that you DO have
what it takes to say no to
the things that tempt you.
Today the temptation for me
was all the cookies we still
have...but I didn't eat
any...not a one. I was very
proud of my self. James
didn't have any either. I
am determined to be 10
pounds less, maybe more, by
the time Lorenda comes here
to visit. That gives me the
whole month of January...I
think I can do it. James
also put on quite a it of
weight from the 3
holidays...so hopefully we
will both get back into good
habits.
I have a bunch more
pictures, and some videos
that I need to post. I will
get to that as soon as
possible. Having Isaiah
home from school still makes
things harder to get done.
Luckily the weather is
improving, so maybe we can
just go outside more.
Evelyn has so many clothes
now for this weather that I
haven't even had to do
laundry yet. My Aunt Shari
and my mom as well got her
LOTS of cute stuff...it is
nice to not do her laundry
so soon. We still need to
go buy Isaiah some pajamas,
maybe I will see some when
we go to Costco on
Wednesday. (Assuming James
gets paid tomorrow)
Speaking of James, this
coming check will be the
last one we receive where he
is on Contract status
(1099). Starting this
months pay period he will
once again be salaried. I
am SO HAPPY! This means we
don't have to take 35% of
check and stick it in the
savings account anymore to
save for taxes. Now next
year we can will actually
get money back, unlike this
year we will have to pay
them. In case you don't
know...when you are 1099 it
means that taxes don't get
taken out of your check.
You get more money that way
on your check, but it just
means you owe it all back
later. So we have been
putting all that tax money a
way so we don't end up being
in trouble. We did good,
and I am hoping that we
won't even have to give it
all to them.
So anyway...there you have
it. That is my update on
what's been going on. I
hope that you all had a
great weekend as well. ttyl.
